Primitive Paddling in Peace

Take your next BWCA trip to the next level and embark on a PMA canoe trip. The Primitive Management Area limits the entry permits to just a single permit per day. What makes this area unique is that there are no designated campsites, and the portages are not maintained by the Forest Service. This trip will challenge your outdoors skills and provide a wilderness adventure and take you into some of the most remote locations to be found in the Boundary Waters. If you want to add a little spice and adventure to your next BWCA trip, then it's time to get primitive in the PMA.

Quetico Canoe Trip of a Lifetime

The Quetico offers more solitude than you'll find in the BWCA. This solitude paired with a route that provides everything the canoe country has to offer will make this trip one for the ages. With a Falls Chain permit you'll encounter open water and narrow passages, river paddling and gorgeous waterfalls, high cliffs and canyons. From Cache Bay to the Falls Chain and on north to Kawnipi Lake, you'll spend a week in a land exactly like those who traveled hundreds of years before us. The scenery is breathtaking, the wildlife is aplenty, the fishing is fantastic and the experience will be one of a lifetime.
