Kayaking - Icehouse Cove Kayak/Hike - AKFor experienced kayakers, adventurous souls and anyone who wants to get off the beaten path. This tour combines a small boat journey with kayaking at Orcas Cove, a hike on the Black Mountain Trail and lunch in Icehouse Cove. Spending 5.5 hours on the water and in the wilderness means great photo opportunities and good chances of encountering wildlife. After a morning exploring the islands and coves by kayak we head up the trail. This is genuine Alaskan hiking: the terrain is steep, slippery and muddy but the journey through old growth forest and muskegs is fascinating. Lunch is eaten on the trail or at the water's edge then we have time for some more paddling before returning to town by boat. Alaskan Xtra Tuff boots, rain gear and dry bags provided.
