The Class III South Fork American in the gold-rush town of Coloma, and the Class III Kings River in Sequoia National Park, are classic Class III rivers, and are great for families and first-time rafters. Popular Class IV rivers are the Middle Fork and the North Fork of the American which are located near Truckee and Auburn. The Class IV Merced and Tuolumne Rivers flows strong and fast out of Yosemite with steep canyon walls and spectacular wild flower displays. Our guides are trained professionals, and many of them have been with us for over 178 years. We want you to have a good time on the river and your safety is our first concern.

Whitewater and Wine-Tasting
Skill Level: Class III Departs: May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Cost: $243-$270 Length: 2 days	Every Saturday evening during a two-day, Saturday-Sunday trip, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, we showcase locally grown and produced wines—an enchanting way to relax after an exciting day on the river! We raft on the Class III, South Fork American River, located in the heart of California gold rush country. After a day on the river, we congregate at our unique Wine and Beverage Bar where your guides will serve you special hors d’oeuvres and give a unique wine-tasting presentation of several local wines. You will enjoy sipping El Dorado County Merlots, Cabernets, Chardonnays, Fume Blancs, and more. After a delicious dinner, slideshow of your boats going through the rapids, and blazing campfire, you will nod off peacefully as you camp under the stars.

Special Family Rafting & Storytel
Skill Level: Class III Departs: Jul, Aug, Cost: $115-$270 Length: 2 days	Mariah was the first to offer family storytelling trips and we still do it best. Join other families with kids for a unique outdoor adventure that is sure to bring fun and excitement to your time together. A skilled storyteller will gather kids of all ages together at lunch and at the evening campfire and captivate them with enchanting tales. This unique, two-day storytelling trip is offered on several Thursdays and Fridays during July and August: July 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30, August 5-6, 12-13, 19-20. Kids age 7-12 come half price, youth 13-16 come for 20% discount. The trips includes 2 days rafting, 2 nights camping, five meals, and stories galore. You may rent your camping equipment from us.
