Dumoine River Canoe Trips

We meet in the tiny Quebec village of Des Joachims and fly by bush plane to the start of our adventure on this Heritage River. We’ll begin with a whitewater canoeing lesson then its off downstream to foam flecked rapids, smooth chutes and awesome waterfalls. We cross beautiful lakes surrounded with spruce and pine, camping at great riverside sites. There is great food and good friends with time to swim, relax by the fire, fish or do nothing at all. There are three different options: a 7 day 60 mile trip, a 5 day 40 mile trip, and special trip for families. Greenland Sea Kayaking Adventures
Skill Level: Intermediate Departs: Jul, Aug, Cost: $2,650 - $5,000 US Length: 14 days	Greenland is the ultimate kayak destination. Paddle through steep fjords surrounded by towering mountains - weaving through a maze of ever changing, always moving icebergs. We pitch our tents by ancient tent rings of the Dorset people, wonder at the still standing walls of Viking settlements and stand in the sod and stone foundation of a Thule dwelling. We travel to three of the most beautiful fjord systems in Greenland: southern Greenland, a mix of modern Greenlandic life, beautiful wilderness and the remains of the Viking settlements. In east Greenland we paddle rugged fjords with countless icebergs and visit a few isolated, Greenlandic outports. Further north in Scorsebysund we discover a fjord system - utterly remote with towering mountains, gigantic bergs and the great glacier that covers most of the country. Whales, seals and narwal share the sea ice, while muskox graze the shore.

Georgian Bay Island Kayak Adventure

Anyone can get started sea kayaking - there's a perfect option for everyone. The Georgian Bay Islands expedition is a 7-day trip from Key River to the tiny fishing village of Killarney. We explore the North Channel on a 5-day adventure. To the south near Snug Harbor we have 3 day Getaway and special trips just for women. At Killbear Provincial Park you can take an overnight clinic that will prepare you for an easy trip on your own or one of our more advanced trips in Georgian Bay, Lake Superior or the arctic.

Hood River Canoe Expedition
Skill Level: Int - Adv Departs: Jun, Cost: $3,165 US Length: 13 days	The Arctic’s most spectacular Barren’s river stretches north with exciting rapids and haunting scenery. Muskox graze the shore and tens of thousands of caribou migrate across the river. Peregrine falcons, golden eagles and gyrfalcons grace the sky. The river is alive with lake trout, arctic grayling and arctic char. The midnight sun entices us to explore the hinterland long into the endless evening. Finally the Hood plunges in unmatched splendor over Wilberforce Falls to the canyon below, more than twice the height of Niagara. Below the canyon we paddle more rapids until we reach the Arctic sea. Here our charter aircraft finds us and flies the long trip back across the tundra to Yellowknife. Our other trips above the tree line on the Coppermine and Horton Rivers are utterly remote but only a handful of paddlers will ever see the distant Hood River.

Mountain River
Skill Level: Intermediate Departs: Jul, Aug, Cost: US$2500 Length: 14 Days	The Mountain River is our ‘Guides Choice’ as the best wilderness canoeing river in Canada! Experienced paddlers will fall in love with the stunning scenery, the steady gradient, dramatic canyons and seemingly endless whitewater. This little known trip winds through the pristine alpine wilderness near the Yukon border to the great Mackenzie River. We fly into a high alpine lake. A few hundred yards from its shore a tiny rivulet flows north. Barely able to float our canoes it pulls us away and as it widens and grows we begin a headlong rush without another portage down a 3800’ descent. The few paddlers that come here find caribou, Dall’s sheep, wolves in a wonderland of multi-hued mountain vistas, hot springs and strange mineral formations.

French River

This historic route of the voyageurs features great campsites, excellent swimming and diving, easy whitewater and warm water. No experience is needed to enjoy this wonderful wilderness holiday. There are trips for families - we look after all the details and you have a great time with your kids. There are also special trips for women only, kids only or adults only. You can come on your own or with friends. Many of the paddlers on our northern expeditions began a lifelong love of the outdoors right here on the French River.
