The Snake River, the most easterly of the Peel River Watershed, drains from the Wernecke Mountains and runs through some of the most scenic mountain terrain in the Yukon. It begins in alpine and sub-alpine zones and descends through the Peel River Plateau into the Peel River. As traditional First Nations territory, it has enormous untouched wildlife habitat providing amazing wildlife viewing opportunities. Shorter Paddling days allow you to hike up to spectacular viewpoints over the vast Snake River valley. Advanced paddling skills are necessary for this class II-III river. However, our experienced guides will direct you safely down the river through a series of beautiful canyons into a braided format and on to the Peel. |
