The Big Salmon offers great challenges for the intermediate paddler in the form of log jams, sweepers, tight corners and large standing waves. The current is moderate but offers many surprises as it twists and turns Northwest towards the Yukon River. An exhilarating paddle beneath the "midnight sun".

Wind River Expedition

The rugged northern beauty of the Wind River offers some of the most spectacular hiking and whitewater canoeing in North America. With exciting and friendly class I-II whitewater canoeing for intermediate canoeists, your guide will ensure that you safely manoeuvre the whitewater and have an exciting paddle through the rapids. With fourteen days of trip, you will have the opportunity to hike the vast wilderness of the Mackenzie and Wernecke Mountains. These easy hikes offer spectacular panoramic views of the Wind River and its tributaries. You will stop along the river in areas well-known for viewing wildlife, such as wolves, dall sheep and woodland caribou.

Snake River Expedition
Skill Level: Intermediate Departs: Jun, Jul, Aug, Cost: $4,995 Length: 15 days	The Snake River, the most easterly of the Peel River Watershed, drains from the Wernecke Mountains and runs through some of the most scenic mountain terrain in the Yukon. It begins in alpine and sub-alpine zones and descends through the Peel River Plateau into the Peel River. As traditional First Nations territory, it has enormous untouched wildlife habitat providing amazing wildlife viewing opportunities. Shorter Paddling days allow you to hike up to spectacular viewpoints over the vast Snake River valley. Advanced paddling skills are necessary for this class II-III river. However, our experienced guides will direct you safely down the river through a series of beautiful canyons into a braided format and on to the Peel.
