This guide has been fully updated by area journalist Louis Dzierzak, with full coverage of 50-plus entry points and routes in the western part of the BWCA Wilderness--those accessible from the Echo Trail, from the Fernberg Road, and from State Highway 1. It then suggest two routes from each entry point (a shorter route and a longer one). The reader is then guided through the entire trip, day by day, with attention to points of interest along the way.
Information is also included about the length of time needed to complete each trip; the total distance traveled as well as the number of lakes, rivers and portages encountered; the overall difficulty; and the maps required.
