Canoe School and Classes
Rohr's Wilderness Tours
Rohr's Wilderness Tours was founded in 1983 by Jeff Rohr, a seasoned wilderness traveler with 30 years of teaching and guiding experience, along with his wife Marcia with 20 years of wilderness paddling and instruction. They take great pride in providing the best canoe instruction and equipment for unforgettable and safe canoe classes. The emphasis on their classes is learning skills before thrills for a non-threatening learning experience. Their students can expect to learn the joys of paddling well in all water conditions. They offer many levels of comprehensive canoe classes and tailor their instruction to the skill level and aptitude of their students. There is never any pressure on the students to paddle what they are not prepared for.
Their canoe base, complete with a great campground, canoe shop, rental house, and landing on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River is a great place to learn and paddle. They are located in Northern Wisconsin, just 13 miles north of Eagle River, on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River. The Headwaters of the Wisconsin, a small and scenic wild river with good current and no rapids, provides a great learning platform for beginning paddlers. Located just south of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the Sylvania Wilderness area with the Ontanogan, Brule, Pine and more rivers close by, RWT is a true paddler's paradise. RWT also offers a beautiful duplex rental house and a great deluxe shower house for some modern conveyances in a scenic wilderness setting. They also offer a complete livery service in both canoes and kayaks with outfitting and shuttle service also available. You can take trips from an hour up to several days from their landing at RWT. For the paddlers who enjoy canoe tripping they offer the same great instruction on some exciting canoe trips on other rivers.
