Rohr's Wilderness Tours
RWT was founded in 1983 by Jeff Rohr, a seasoned wilderness canoe guide of 30 years, along with his wife Marcia with 20 years of wilderness paddling and instructing experience. They take great pride in providing the best canoe instruction and equipment for unforgettable and safe canoe classes. The emphasis on their class is to teach their students the joys paddling well in all water conditions. They offer six levels of comprehensive canoe classes to thoroughly educate their students. Proficiency in skills learned is required to move on to next level of instruction without any pressure on the students to paddle what they are not prepared for. Their canoe base, with a beautiful wilderness campground, canoe shop, and landing on the Headwaters of the Wisconsin River is located in beautiful northern Wisconsin just 13 miles north of Eagle River and makes a great base for their classes and all who enjoy paddling. The Headwaters of the Wisconsin River is a small and scenic wild river with good current but no real rapids and provides great paddling even for the beginner. Located just south of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the Sylvania Wilderness area and with the Ontanogan, Brule, and Pine Rivers close by, RWT is a true paddler's paradise. RWT also offers a luxury duplex cabin to rent and a new deluxe shower house for some modern conveyances in a scenic wilderness setting. They also offer a complete canoe livery, outfitting and shuttle service in both canoes and kayaks. You can take trips from an hour up to several days from their landing at RWT. For the paddlers who enjoy canoe tripping they offer the same great instruction on some exciting canoe trips on other rivers.
