Instructional Clinics For Canoes and Kayaks: The instructional program at WILD WATERS Outdoor Center is unsurpassed. Not only are our instructors ACA certified, but they are also dedicated to the sport and enjoy sharing their knowledge with you. Our location, on the banks of the Hudson River, is the perfect starting point for your introduction to paddling. Our 1-5 day clinics start in April and last through October. We offer a variety of rivers for all levels of paddling ability. Even on the hottest days in the summer, with the dam controlled Sacandaga River, we have plenty of water for you!
Beginner and Novice paddlers will start their clinic on flatwater where they will quickly learn the basic strokes and boat control techniques needed to paddle in whitewater. From the lake you will head to the river will where you will learn all about river dynamics and river running in fun but not intimidating whitewater situation.
Intermediate and Advanced paddlers will focus on advanced stroke techniques, boat control, surfing and the Eskimo roll in a more challenging setting.
Courses are offered weekly from mid April - mid October. Your clinic begins on Saturday morning and will run for 1-5 days depending on the program you have selected.
