It was Saturday, July 7, 2001. We had already driven 10 hours from our home in Grand Rapids, Michigan when we arrived in Foleyet, Ontario. It was here that we were to meet up with the rest of our group. Dave and Julie, from Missinaibi Headwaters Outfitters, were there to greet us and advise us of the schedule. After loading the canoes and the rest of our gear we were to board the train around 9:00pm and ride for two hours into the wilderness. At this point I was sure glad someone else had made these arrangements for us and all we had to do was go along for the ride.
