Naturally Superior Adventures Our five-day adventure was a trip along the northern coastline of Lake Superior. We began near Wawa, Ontario, Canada and journeyed west to the Dog (University) River. We took a day hike to Denison falls. The trip included a two hour training and on water instruction from our knowledgeable guide. The food and supplies other than personal gear and sleeping bags were provided by Naturally Superior Adventures. Our trip took place from July 29-August 3. (browsers w/o javascript, please click here) Brian Van Drie, co-founder of Paddling.net, and his wife Kara joined guide Dustin and fellow traveler Daniel for the five-day trip. A second group from Naturally Superior Adventures followed the same route but traveled independently. We had the opportunity to join the second group at various places throughout our trip. Starting from "Rock Island", the home base for Naturally Superior Adventures, we paddled northwest leaving visible signs of civilization and entered a dramatic and isolated shoreline. The highlight of the trip was an inland hike along the Dog River to visit the spectacular Denison Falls a 40m (125') drop in a series of swirling cataracts.
