Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: July 2003

Description:

Entered at Luhr Beach and the tide was running inland. Perfect weather, lots of Herons, fish jumping, a pleasant paddle. Paddled to Martin Way and then headed back. Tide still coming in and the paddle out was a bit of work. Took a side stream and saw hundreds of small crabs. Back in the main water way a seal joined the trip and added levity. Took a couple of hours, a pleasant break.

Good boat launch at Luhr Beach. Can put in at other end of trip at Nisqually Plaza RV Park.

Fees:

Luhr Beach is restricted to cars with a WA Fish and Wildlife decal. Cost is $10.00 and can be purchased at sporting goods stores, etc. $5.00 at RV Park.

Resources:

See book Paddle Routes of Western Washington.
