Beverly Harbor - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: August 4, 2013
Nearest City: Salem, MA
Difficulty: Moderate

Description:

We went to Salem Willows and launched/paddled into the Beverly Harbor directly off the beach in Salem. We headed towards Collins Cove (Salem).

The water had a light to moderate chop but was flatter closer to shore in between the boats in the harbor. Our kayaks are recreational kayaks and are for all-water usage.

The day was lovely and we were out a couple of hours. You could paddle across to Lynch Park in Beverly and stop for an ice cream!

The best part is the day can be split into beaching and boating! The harbor was so picturesque and we had a great day!

Accommodations:

Salem Willows offers free parking, food, public restrooms, etc. It is a great place for a day trip and offers lots to do!

Fees:

Nope. If you fish from the kayak you need a fishing license.

Directions:

Head to Salem Willows in Salem, MA. RT 128 to EXIT 25 towards Salem. Follow signs to Salem and use a GPS to get accurate directions from Essex St. to the road leading into the Willows.
