There is a large dam built at the east end of the lake. If you look closely along the length of it you'll find the old runs that were used to provide hydro power for the mills.
As you go west the lake changes from a large, open body of water to a tapering pond-like atmosphere that becomes a quiet, calm and tranquil area perfect for fishing or lounging.
There are a few islands located in the lake. They're nice places to stop and explore or camp out on. If you want to relax, these islands in the summertime are shady and usually have a nice breeze blowing through them.
This lake is busy on warm days and weekends. Be wary that the boat ramp may be a busy place and it's best to stay off to the left away from the dock during these days.
