We put in around 11 am, the day was sunny and warm, the current was moving along at a good clip due to recent rains and the creek being high.
I took my 13 year old son on his maiden voyage in a canoe, he was a bit spooky at first but soon got the hang of things, the scenery was great, has been nearly 20 years since I was on this stretch of water, I let my son fish and just had to paddle enough to keep him close to what I thought were good for fishing, lol, not a bite!
The creek is not very wide on this part and when the first power boat passed us he was a bit scared but the boat slowed to almost no wake and we had no trouble at all. We passed several more but all the others slowed to a crawl.
We made the trip in about 4 hours, we were in no hurry, we explored each and every slough we came across, the sun got hot and sunscreen had to be used. It was a nice enjoyable trip I hope to make several more trips in the Albany area in the near future I will post each trip.
