Put in around 1030am from Sackett Rd in North Haven. Paddled down river for about 1 1/2 miles. The tide was starting to come in. There were all types of birds along the shore line as well as perched in the trees. There were also a lot of dead bunker in the river and along the shore line but that's the way nature is. The seagulls were having a feast. There were opspreys flying overhead and herons to be found along the river.

The paddle was easy and the scenery was good. Saw a few big blue crabs along the river bottom. A lot of bait fish There are a lot of cattails along the banks which made it nice. There are some power boats that use this river for fishing strippers and bluefish.

I headed back up river with the incoming tide which made the paddle easier. You have to watch the tides when paddles all streams and rivers along the coastline are you may get stuck in mud and that's no fun. But for a short drive it was well worth it.

No Facilities
Nice large parking lot and the police do patrol it.

Boat launch is located on Sackett Point Road
