Token Creek - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: August 19, 2012
Nearest City: Madison, WI
Difficulty: Moderate

Description:

Launched at the bridge on Daentl Road and paddled Token Creek to Cherokee Park. We leisurely paddled the creek. This trip took just under 3.5 hours. There was one blockage due to a downed tree, but the portage around it was not too difficult.

The water was low, but we could navigate easy. There were many overhanging trees and branches, but the waterway was passable (with the exception of the blockage mentioned above).

Overall, a very quiet and beautiful paddling experience!

Accommodations:

Parking lot at the Daentl bridge, as well as at the Cherokee Park (street parking).

Fees:

No

Directions:

Launch at Daentl Road bridge (right by Vetesnik's Mad City Power Sports).

We ended our paddling at Cherokee Park on Burning Wood Way in Madison, WI.

Resources:

just printed and used a map of the Token Creek and Cherokee Marsh off Google Maps
