Description:

This report refers to the Segreganset/Dighton portion of the Riber.

A beautiful short trip for either a kayak or canoe. You will see wildlife such as turtles, swans and other large birds. You will paddle south (toward Somerset) and see beautiful houses, go under an old railroad bridge to another smaller stream (dead end). Then make your way across the bay (about a 10 min. paddle) to world famous Dighton Rock. Pull up on the shore to the right of the building. A park with picnic tables, grills, trees and a free indoor display of Dighton Rock and other stuff. No fee to visit this relaxing place.

Directions:

The put in point and the take out point (same place) is located on center st. in Dighton next to small one-lane bridge. 24 to Padleford Exit, go west on S.Main, right on Elm. Or TAKE 138 to center st in Dighton.
