River is very calm and easy to paddle. However, at mid-tide, the current can run pretty quick. Very peaceful and scenic paddle, with the exception of passing under Rte 1 and I-95, about a 100 yards apart. Saw some fisherman in a boat catch a nice sized Striper while going by. I have not had much luck Kayak fishing, but have only fooled around.
Passed under Scotland Bridge Road for the first time and went about another mile upstream into a marshy area. again very peaceful.
Paddle several miles all together and my wife picked me up at the Scotland Bridge Boat Ramp. Depending on the tide, you can go North or South. The area around Scotland Bridge can be somewhat of a lagoon and a good place to practice.
Love this trip!
To Scotland Bridge- Rt onto Rte one, Rte onto South Berwick road (Rt after Hannafords), left onto Scotland Bridge Road
