Little York Lake & Goodale Lake - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Destination Report
Nearest City: Cortland, NY
Difficulty: Easy

These two small lakes connect through a channel under US Rt 81 . They are shallow but very doable. Good fishing, some motor boats on Little York but it isn't big enough to have very many.

At this time the water is clear and vision to the underwater life is terrific. Slow going gives you plenty to see aquatic plants, fish, birds and lots of photo opportunities.

The pavilion has restrooms and parking lot, picnic tables, lots of space for little ones to play in water. Plenty of food, gas, ice cream stops on main road.

no fees or permits to boat

from Cortland go North on rt 281 to Dwyer Memorial Park go around the pavilion and launch from boat site or grass.
