Description:

Spy Pond is a kettle pond formed by receding glacier thousands years ago. The water is very clean, you can easily paddle around the whole pond in about two hours.

The south of pond is noisy because it is near the Rt 2 but the rest of pond is very quite.

There is a tiny Elizabeth Island in the middle of pond. We saw five Canadian geese and one white swan are hatching eggs on the island in mid of April.

This is a good half day trip - especially with kids.

Accommodations:

The a small playground near the parking lot.

Fees:

None

Directions:

Rt 2 exit 58 on Pleasant St to Arlington, turn left on Pond Ln about half mile. After passing Arlington Boys and Girls Club, you will find the park lot can hold about twenty cars. A nice launching ramp is on your right.
