Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: July 3, 2011
Nearest City: Milton, MA
Difficulty: Easy
Submitted by: ktrboston

Description:

I thought I would try the Neponset River. I was just great to be outside but the trip was rather disappointing.

I put-in at Paul's Bridge in Milton and traveled upstream but about a half mile down a big tree covered the entire width of the Neponset and I had to turn around. Didn't want to try to climb over since I was alone.

The current at the put-in is strong IMAO some might have a hard time.

Accommodations:

None

Fees:

No

Directions:

From Route 138 going towards Mattapan turn left on Neponset River Parkway parking is on the left after field. Coming from Boston, take Truman parkway towards Readville at last set of lights take left and stay right. Parking will be on right. Has accomodations for a 4 or 5 cars.

Launches:

Some walking needs to be done in order to get to the Put in about 50yrds or so.

***There is a new put don't know how long its been there but new one is at Martini Park off Truman Park way near the Shell.
