Fond du Lac River - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

One place that I have been spending a lot of time recently has been the Fond du Lac River. I typically put in at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac and then paddle over to the river. I am never disappointed with the scenery and the amount of natural action.

You can expect seeing some people on the river going in either direction. The current is so slow that you almost think that there isn't one. I typically stir up a lot of fish so if someone wanted to do a little fishing while on the river, they would not leave disappointed.

Most recently, I went up the river till I couldn't move any further and that was because of the current where the river converged. I could have gotten out of the kayak and walked past that point but that is no fun and not really a challenge.

At the point of convergence, you could nicely have a picnic on the shore because there is a beautiful spot where three large trees have fallen and create a clearing.

I enjoy going up the river and plan on spending more time trying to get further up because there is a lot more to explore.

Here's a link to photos that I have taken:

Go to Lakeside Park in Fond du lac and go west on the Lake Winnebago to enter the Fond du Lac River next to Stinky Point.

Lakeside Park has one put in.
