The crystal clear water and surrounding scenery make Terrapin Creek a must-float for novice and experienced paddlers as well. We shuttle our own boats but the nice folks at Terrapin Outdoor Center provide rentals and shuttle service for a fee.
Near the end of the upper float, there is a tremendous set of springs called Seven Springs that is just eternally bubbling with icy cold water, safe to drink. The lower float below Terrapin Outdoor Center is closer to roads and periodic houses and is a safer float for novices or groups with small children since the upper is isolated and without cell service.
Bring sunscreen, snacks, camera. There are turtles, fish, water fowl, and snakes so be aware that you are in their habitat. There have never been any wildlife related injuries on this creek.
We're on the creek nearly every weekend...hope to see you there.
From Centre, AL - take Hwy 9 toward Piedmont, approximately 10-12 miles. Turn left onto County 175 and turn left at the yellow kayaks.
