Nearest City: Clifton, OH

Description:

Put in on the Little Miami River at Grinnell Mill just outside of John Bryan state park. Water level was way down, did a lot of dragging. Lot's of strainers, and "Log Jams" wouldn't really call them strainers as they were literally log jams. Largest one was 25 yards deep. Did my first portage on the left, second on the right. The biggest log jam you will find a trail on the right.

Stopped the first night on a little gravel bar. Sunday morning I could hear the motorcross at the Xenia Fairgrounds. Best to do this river when it hasn't been so dry. Very beautiful and secluded.

Animal life was everywhere, saw at lease 8 carp that were over 24 inches in length, turtles, deer, vultures, cranes, and hawks. Tree's covered the river, quiet, didn't see anyone. Took out at the Narrow's off of Indian Ripple Rd.

Outfitting:

Old Town Guide 147

Fees:

Ohio small craft license. Fishing license if you want.
