Kincaid Lake State Park - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Destination Report
Difficulty: Easy
Submitted by: Kyyakman

Description:

This is a nice 150+ acre lake with 5-6 finger creeks with something different up every creek. One creek has water lilies of some sort. The main lake winds along between wooded shorelines, one side is state park and the other side is private property. The park property ends at a bridge underpass.

During the week you'll almost be by yourself, on the weekends not many more unless there is a fishing tourny going on. Lake has a 10 HP limit and is no wake which I have never had any boater to break when near me, they all seem to make it a habit to slow down even more when meeting up with paddlers.

For the person who wants to fish there are plenty of catfish and though I've never fished for them there are supposed to be huge large mouth bass.

Nice water, nice campgrounds, nice paddling; just watch for old stick-ups close to the shores just underwater.

Fees:

No Fees

Launches:

Two different ramp locations. First one is behind the golf course clubhouse. Large parking lot. Second one is at the marina, parking lot is up a short hill. Both nice ramps.
