Willimantic River - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: July 2010
Nearest City: Eagleville, CT
Difficulty: Easy
Submitted by: Larry Akers

Nice quiet paddle. Tons of birds and wildlife.

After about a mile and a half you'll go under a bridge at Plains rd., where locals jump off and swim. A few other potential swimming area's along the river as well.

About a mile after the bridge the river became to shallow to paddle due to the lack of rain. We made the trip in around 2 and a half hours.

Highway 32 through Willimantic into Eagleville. Put in at the Eagleville Dam and paddle upstream from there.
