Sadagwa Pond - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: Sept. 2001
Nearest City: Whitingham, VT
Difficulty: Easy
Submitted by: alpenwald_adventures

Description:

My wife, 4 year old son and I set out for a quiet water paddle on Sadagwa pond in Whitingham VT. The launch is about 1/4 mile south of route 100 and is very easy. Sadagwa pond has wonderful views of the White Mountains, and the Searsburg Windmill project presents an interesting backdrop. Bass were jumping, and we got to paddle within 25 feet of a Blue Heron resting on the "floating island" which "Quiet Water" describes at sphagnum, but is more like floating brush.

All in all, this pond is a nice and peaceful place to take the family for an afternoon paddle.

Resources:

I used "Quiet Water" to find the launch and information about the pond
