Description:

About fifteen miles southwest of Coos Bay, an experience exploring this very scenic part of the Oregon Coast. One of the most scenic headlands here on the South Oregon coast. Sir Francis Drake's expedition in late 1500 discovered the site, long been used by Native Americans. From the boat landing on the beach at Sunset Bay, a sandy beach and tide pools, as you paddle south past Shore Acres, Cape Argo light House, and Seven Devils where seals and sea lions rest on Shell islands off shore. The fishing of rock cod, link, and many other varieties of seasonal fishing is a fair weather pursuit.

Paddling for the advanced skipper is available for day time use. Hours of paddling are possible, depending on sea conditions. Sea life is in abundance where you can see many intertidal plants and animals - but please look but don't touch. The site is closed March 1 to June 30th to protect seal pups. Have fun.
