Description:
Beautiful, alpine lake.
Some nice rocky formations along the shoreline as well as in the shallows.
Altitude around 6500 ft.
Accommodations:
Nice parking lot with bathrooms. Campgrounds on/near lake. Close to PCT and several nice hikes. About 1 hour from Lake Tahoe and Pollock Pines on Hwy 88.
Fees:
No fee to launch kayak/canoes.
Directions:
- From Hwy 50 (coming from Lake Tahoe)
Take Hwy 89 South towards Meyers, then Right on Hwy 88 (West) for about 30 mins.
- From Placerville:
Take Morman Emigrant Rd (near Sly Park)
Left on Hwy 88 and drive about 10 minutes.
