Description:
We put in at Shaker Village's dock, where the Dixie Belle Riverboat launches, and paddled upstream on the Kentucky River to Dix River.
Gorgeous views of the palisades on both rivers. Quiet except for two small fishing boats.

From Lexington, take Harrodsburg Road (Rt. 68) south to Shaker Vilage. Look for signs for the Riverboat launch across from the Village.
Launches:
Road to boat launch is locked except from 1-5:30pm. You can get a key from Shaker Village hotel front desk for other times.
