Taunton River - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip
Over the past 10 years the Taunton River has become one of the cleanest, most beautiful places to paddle in Massachusetts. It has over 30 miles of river with no portages, and the foliage is incredible. It is part of the Wampanoag Canoe Passage, which is what the Wampanoag Native Americans used to go from Situate, MA to Dighton Rock in Berkley, MA. It has also been selected to be a National Wild and Scenic River, which is very impressive for a once very industrial river.
Plymouth Rock KOA, and Camp Titicut are both places to camp along the river.
Some of the best spots on the Taunton River are in Raynham on Rt. 44. Just off of Rt. 24 (exit 13b)
