Connecticut River - Enfield to East Harford
Kings Island is a good place to put into the CT River. Just below the last of 18 dams on the river the water is quick and the currents are strange. I rode alongside kings Island and at the end of the island encountered some choppy water that went on for a while. On a nice and sunny day the CT River can be a beautiful place, I past other boaters and fishermen.

This trip is about 15 miles long and on the way you pass a myriad of small islands (some of them worth exploring, or at least good for a lunch break) You will also pass under the Bissell bridge (along with many other bridges) which has a launch site of it's own. If quick water is not your thing then putting in under this bridge could be perfect for you, during this part of the river the currents do not pull you around.

Passing under the bridge into Hartford has a very magical feel to it, the city pops into view and you pass right by, at this point you can find the take out on your left, this is river park in east Hartford.

**make sure you have planned your pickup as there is no type of return service

Portable toilets, plenty of parking, and picnic tables at both the put in and the take out.

The Kings Island Boat launch in Enfield is located one mile northwest of junction of U.S. 5 and I-91. West on Bridge Lane to Parson Road. Launch is on the right.
