Description:

Core Creek is a park in the Bucks County Park System and includes Lake Luxembourg. The lake itself is quite large and accommodates kayaks, canoes and electric motor craft. Because of the size factor you really should have some experience canoeing or kayaking.

Occasionally Temple U's crew team will use the lake for practice. There are several access points available and in the spring if the water is high enough there are some small streams you can explore.

The lake is a 25 minute ride from Northeast Phila and affords a good opportunity for Phila area paddlers.

If it is windy this lake can get very choppy, very fast. Be careful.

Accommodations:

There are port-a-potties and picnic areas throughout the park

Fees:

I am not sure what Bucks County residents pay, but nonresidents pay $20 a year per boat for a permit. There are rentals.

Directions:

Take Route 1 (Not Business RTE 1) north to the Maple Ave exit. At the bottom of the ramp make a right on to 213 and stay on it to the junction at 413. Make a right on 413 and proceed on it. After you pass Winchester Ave you will go down a hill and under a bridge to a traffic light. Make a right and proceed about 3/4ths of a mile to the park entrance which will be on your left
