Great fishing for Big and Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Musky, and Perch. 80 species of fish in the system and over 30 varieties of freshwater mussels, some of them very rare.
The area is recognized as being one of the most significant staging areas for waterfowl in southern Ontario, with over 150,000 birds during fall migration.

Dresden is the home of Uncle Toms Cabin, the Canadian home of Josiah Henson, the slave upon whom Harriet Beecher Stowe based her famous novel of the same name. The Cabin and interpretive area is open to the public.
Wallaburg museum has the Lee Rifle Prototype, the pre-cursor to the original "Enfield rifle" which was invented in Wallaceburg in the 1870's
