Traveled to Falls Lake(Reservoir) for a day trip and found the area lovely. The water was smooth, except when in main channel and the wind was blowing it was a little choppy. The eastern shore that is part of the Uwharrie National Forest was great with it's rock formations and sharp drop offs.
It was a very enjoyable trip and except for a fisherman, had the lake to ourselves to enjoy. There were 2 eagles that was circling around up next to Narrows Dam at the north end.
Great lake to kayak on.
No fees are charged for this great adventure
Go to Badin, NC and ask directions from the home folks due to road could be hard to find without previous knowledge of the town.
