Concord River - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Destination Report
Nearest City: Concord, MA
Difficulty: Easy

Description:

We put in at Red Bridge on Lowell Rd in Concord. Almost immediately we entered the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge with lush greenery on both sides.

We saw several Herons and many turtles. We encountered two annoying Jet Skiers, but otherwise the river was occupied by kayaks, canoes and fishing boats. As we passed through Bedford into Billerica, there were more houses on the shore but it was still very peaceful.

We ended at Talbot Falls on Faulkner St in Billerica. Great Day!

Directions:

Lowell St is just outside Concord Center. To get to Talbot Falls, take Rt. 3 N to Rt 129E to Rt 3A North. Take a right on Lowell St and a left onto Faulkner St.
