This is a nice little lake about 150 acres. My wife and I are new this year to kayaking and havenít tried anything too strenuous. The lake is pretty shallow but it does allow power boats.
The coast is about 1/3 developed and we went on a nice sunny day and paddled out to the south heading for the large island about 2/3 across we found the shallow area. The weeds and grasses made the surface quite smooth to glide through.
When we approached the island there was a huge amount of lily pads and turtles sunning themselves. My wife picked some flowers and we watched the local swan family out for a swim.
We circled the island and returned lazily to the put in point. It took us about 2 hours of very easy paddling. There are a few other areas of the lake we didnít explore so we may return.
As we left, a couple other kayakers arrived and several fishermen were there. It fits the bill for my style of kayaking lazing along and looking at the world.
Parking for about 20-30 cars and one porta-potty
We have Pelican Eclipse 116 - SOT 11.5 kayaks
Rt 15 (Berlin turnpike) to the brown boat ramp turnoff. The Brown boat launch sign is visible coming South.
Going North it is over grown so look careful. Follow the signs to the State Boat launch and put in.
