Marsh Creek State Park - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: May 2007
Difficulty: Easy

Description:

Although paddling on a holiday weekend, we found solace in the far reaches of this huge lake. The wildlife at Marsh Creek is phenomenal, and we were delighted to spot a large turtle sunning on a rock, baby turtles on a log, and a Great Blue Heron. This is an easy paddle but could be difficult if winds kick up. The lake is quite open; find shady spots (and wildlife) along the shoreline.

Accommodations:

Restrooms, boat ramp, boat rentals

Fees:

None that we are aware.

Directions:

The park is about two miles west of the village of Eagle on PA 100. Access to the park from the Pennsylvania Turnpike is via PA 100 north. At Eagle, signs direct you to the park.
