Description:
Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is a major ecotourism destination on Maryland's Eastern Shore, approximately 12 miles south of the town of Cambridge, in Dorchester County.
The refuge was established in 1933 as a refuge for migratory birds and includes three paddling trails within its 27,000 acres.
Blackwater is a haven for over 100 American Bald Eagles, the Delmarva Fox squirrel and the peregrine falcon.
Visitor's can enjoy the refuge via driving, hiking, biking and/or kayaking.

Nominal entrance fee depending on type of vehicle.

US Rt. 50 to Rt. 16 West. Follow designated signs.
