Flat River - Kayak Trip / Canoe Trip

Report Type: Day Trip Report
Trip Dates: July 2006
Nearest City: Greenville, MI
Difficulty: Easy
Submitted by: murph

Description:

The Flat River from Greenville down is very nice -- very slow and fairly wide, it meanders along for a nice mellow cruise.

We caught bass and some panfish. It runs through a nice preserve, so the houses are few. We went about 3 hours down and came out at a nice bridge with good parking, at a bit of a steep launch.

We will be paddling it this winter; should have a whole new look. I didn't see another boat on the trip.

Everything in Greenville, MI

Fees:

no

Directions:

Take US 131 to exit 101, then take M-57 East to Greenville and put in below the dam.
