I began at the newly built canoe launch in Alice Bish Park of Greenville, OH on this Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. Although it was only 15 degrees F, the stream flow was approximately 400 cfs, and the frosty scenery was beautiful.
I paddled for about 2 1/2 hours to Bear's Mill Dam. Along the way, there was an abundance of interesting wildlife: deer, rabbit, squirrel, pleated woodpecker, mallard duck, wood ducks, Canadian geese, blue heron, king fisher, etc.
The new facilities in Greenville are greatly appreciated. There is plenty of untouched scenery to enjoy on this river...all the way to Greenville Falls and its joining to the Stillwater River in Covington, OH.
