This was a pond I have scoped out in the past only to realize that the only time it was going to be paddled was in the early spring or later fall. In the summer the lily pads take over the area and would really be difficult to get through. This place looked so interesting though, I'm glad I got out here when I did. What a pleasant surprise this was. For a lake in this vicinity I was excited to see how undeveloped this place is. The best part of the paddle here was how much larger than it looked and the views it provided. Reminiscent of some New Hampshire paddles I've done! This is one you definitely want to try. Very shallow which is why it has been taken over by the lilies in the summer? Check it out before or after I think you'll agree how nice it is.

Rte. 6 & I 384, Rte. 44 east for 1.8 miles, left (N) on Cedar Swamp Rd for 1.5 miles, Left on Vernon Branch Rd (although I think it was called something else so watch miles) launch is 0.6 miles on right just after the causeway.

This is a carry in launch with parking across the street where you can also put in for Middle Bolton Lake.
