Kayaking in Darwin's Paradise
A trip to the Galápagos Islands may seem like an impossible dream to a kayaker. Well, as we recently found out, that's all changed thanks to Explorers' Corner and the crew of the Ahmará. Now you can visit the Galápagos Islands, kayak by day, and spend your nights in the comfort of a catamaran. Wildlife was everywhere, and far surpassed even the most grand expectations. Activities included snorkeling, hiking, sailing and, of course, kayaking. Click on the pictures below to start the slideshow and then start planning your own trip to this tropical paradise made famous by Charles Darwin and made comfortable by Explorers' Corner.
Your home away from home, the Ahmará, was designed by Philippe Jeantot, three-time “round-the-world sailing champion” and has been converted to provide comfortable cabins with private toilet and shower. A full crew, including a resident naturalist, are along for your comfort. Spectacular food is served from the galley and comfortable dining areas are available both inside and out.
Brent Vredevoogd, co-founder of Paddling.net was joined by his wife Chris on a 10 day trip to Ecuador and the world famous Galápagos Islands. This trip was guided by Olaf Malver, owner and Chief Exploratory Officer (CEO) of Explorers' Corner. We were also joined by Olaf's son, Erick, and six other great people from around the country.
