Exploring Ft. Myers and Sanibel - January 2005

< Southwest Florida offers a myriad of outdoor activities and Lee County has been active in creating new paddlesports opportunities. The Great Calusa Blueway is a popular paddling trail that crisscrosses through Estero Bay and the Pine Island areas. These estuaries provide a haven for paddlers and birds alike. This trip provided countless opportunities to view a variety of bird species while enjoying great paddling.

For this trip, we participated in three day paddling trips and spent each night in comfortable lodging in two places in the Ft. Myers / Sanibel area. We also were able to explore the areas through two boat tours and a great drive in the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
