  Upper James Buchanan to Glasgow
Posted by: gatormax on Sep-04-13 2:36 PM (EST)

Hello fellow paddlers,

I'm looking for a weekend trip that's not too far from Washington DC and have read up on the Upper James River. Has anyone ever done the stretch from Buchanan to Glasgow? I would like to know:

1. how annoying the passing trains are when camping on the banks of the river in the National Forest?

2. how difficult the Class II rapids there are?

Thank you for your help!
