Shooting for may 25-26. My plan is to put in at Yorkville and make it to Wendron by day 2. I was looking to see if anyone wanted to join me.

Ya we were surprised to see several islands with no trespassing signs posted. The island we stayed on had nothing posted, it was smaller, I would say less then an acre. There was evidence that would suggest we weren't the firsts to have camped there. I do think that mallard bend would make a good halfway point to make camp in the future.

Hey Mark, thanks for the plug. He is correct Tim, I, PSC, am doing a 1 or 2 day trip on the lower Fox River this June 7, 8, 9. We will be starting in Montgomery, some will be taking out at Silver Springs State Park, others will be going onto Millington on the 9th. As you may know, there are not many available camping opportunities along the Fox. But I have secured a couple for our use. Send my a PM if you are interested, Dave W

thanks for the info. Some friends and I put in at yorkville on sunday and made our way just north of Sheridan were we found a suitable Island to camp for the night. Then on monday we pushed on to Ayres landing in Wendron which is probably the better half of the trip even though it is much shorter. If you are looking for a actual campground, the river passes both Mallard Bend and Rolling Oaks just north of Sheridan. But if your not afraid of some very primitive accommodations id be willing to share the location of the island we stayed on.
Glad you had a good trip

Our club runs multiple trip on the Sheridan - Wedron stretch, its called the 'Dells of the Fox'. Usually in the fall when it's cooler and the fall colors are around. I'm glad your trip was uneventful, as most of the islands in the Fox River are privately owned, especially in the Sheridan area. If you want more local trips, check out our website, trips updated on a weekly basis.
