Posted by: bsloss on Feb-20-14 9:16 PM (EST)

Canoe Race update: If you plan to participate in the Great Eleven Point Canoe Race on April 26, please let me know by Mar 1, which is just around the corner. We need to know that we are going to have enough people. Remember that there will be tandem or solo divisions with the entry fee covering a donation to the Greer Mill, canoe rental or transport of private canoe, free BBQ, Free band (Deep Fried Squirrel), free camping, free beer/soda tent and raffle. You can call 417-778-6497 or 417-270-2497, email canoe@ortrackm.org, or message me here on facebook. We need a team name, racer names, phone number and whether you are using our canoe or your own canoe or kayak. Also, feel free to call with questions if you want to discuss the event or the Mill project. The nonprofit web site is www.friendsoftheelevenpointriver.org and the race host web site is www.11pointcanoe.com. This is a race for fun and a great cause.

Canoe Race update: We are extending the registration deadline to Mar 15. You must register by then. To register call 417-778-6497 or 417-270-2497, email canoe@ortrackm.org or message me here on facebook. Just need name of racers, phone number, whether you are using our canoe or your own. WE NEED MORE RACERS! We are also adding a fun run option. If you don't want to race 20 miles from Greer to Riverton, we will take a group up to Whitten after the start of the race and they can canoe the 8 miles from Whitten to Riverton, so they can end with the racers. The price is the same. A team of 2 for $180 or a solo paddler for $90. Of course you get all the benefits a racer gets including free BBQ, free canoe rental or shuttle of private canoe, free band, free beer tent, raffle and free camping. This also includes a tax deductible donation to the Greer Mill project.

My extended family is all signed up and ready to rock. We have two tandems and a solo. We will be paddling a green nova craft prospector 16, red mad river explorer, and a red Bell rockstar. If anyone one from the sight is there stop and say hello. Did you ever nail down what kind of beer will be served at the after party? Up north we like it dark and strong!!

I am getting excited! I haven't been on this river in eight years. This time I get to bring my ten year old to race with me. He has never been on this river, I can't wait to show it to him
