I'll be spending a few days in Knoxville in the spring (not sure yet of exact dates) and I'm hoping to find a good place to paddle.
I plan to drive down with my Wavesport Ethos 9 (crossover kayak) and either paddle a very tame river if I find someone to kayak and shuttle with, or I could paddle a lake alone.
Suggestions of scenic places to paddle (especially lakes) would be much appreciated.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to camp on this trip - will be staying in a hotel. Just FYI.

I would be interested in joining you this spring. I live about an hour and some change north east of knoxville. I have been on clinch river below norris lake dam, and on tellico lake below chilhowee dam, but open for new areas. I try to get out toward knox and check out a few places.

I'm just starting a new job for a new client next week, so I my trip is likely to be postponed until fall, or else I will just make it a long weekend type trip. I just don't feel like I can request time off at the beginning of a new job. If I can set aside some paddling time when I head south, I'll let you know.
p.s. Are you near Chattanooga?|

I'll be planning to visit Knoxville and Chattanooga as I have relatives both places. If Chattanooga is closer, that could work. And of course, I'll have to stop by Rock Creek Outfitters while I'm there... :)
Work problems also|

Sorry we couldn't hook up. My job has left me with no days off so far this year, that includes weekends. I did not expect it to be this ways, so maybe its time to job search after 20 years of devotion. maybe this fall. good luck with your new job. Got to go to work now, and yes it is sunday.
Sorry to hear that |
