  Everglades Day Trips with Hotel
Posted by: WSKayak on Dec-10-13 5:30 PM (EST)

I am thinking of driving down to Florida from Connecticut to do some kayaking in the everglades.

1. There is no camping involved, I want to stay in a clean hotel with parking for pickup truck and a kayak on top.

2. I have an 18 foot touring kayak and want to get out on a bay.

Where is a good place to stay---good meaning a variety of lodging and the ability to navigate out through the everglades to the ocean?

I find the amount of information available overwhelming and need a place to start focusing.

in Everglades City
They cater to paddlers.
There are also other motels in Everglades city.
They along with the Everglades National Park headquarters which is just down the road from Ivy House can give you all the info you need for the northern end.
The southern end is Flamingo and unfortunately there are no motels there.

Check out our google web site for a lot of good Everglades trips it is:

If you have specific questions don't hesitate to ask.

My wife and I paddled in the Everglades today, and will be paddling here for the rest of the week.
