looking for any opportunity for a weeklong or so adventure on the water or backpacking...doesn't matter where other than here(beaumont, tx) I can fly to most places, but don't want to rent a car.

Pull down the Go Paddling menu, then look under the Outfitters/Schools heading and select Kayaking Trips or Canoeing Trips.

If you fly in and don't rent a car, you can stay someplace that serves as a base paddling location for an outfitter. Sign up for one of their packaged tours and you don't have to drive at all.

that would be sweet, but the reason i don't want to rent a car is because i don't have the a package deal is kinda like renting a car. I was thinking more like someone wants to do a trip near their home and has an extra boat...i'm the sleep in a tent over a hotel kinda spender, more of a backpacking style traveler. At the same time, If anyone were interested in doing a kayak trip near southeast texas i have an extra boat and am up for being a tour guide myself...i know some pretty sweet secret spots around here, just looking to explore some new scenery.

Pretty river, great people. There may even be two to four others there from Texas.
